How to Paint a Room FAST

Today’s tutorial will show you how to paint a room fast!

Nobody likes to spend all weekend painting their home.

So these tips will be incredibly helpful at saving time.

And make sure to stick around for the last tip, it’ll save you hours.

Let’s dive in.

Tip #1: Fill Nail Holes with Plastic Wood-X

Plastic Wood-X is primarily for wood. But it works just as well over drywall or plaster. The great thing about  Plastic Wood-X is it doesn’t shrink. That means you can apply it, then prime and paint in one day. Plus, it turns from pink to natural when it’s ready to prime.

Tip #2: Use Purdy’s 18 inch Paint Roller

Normal paint rollers are 9 inches. Therefore, using 18 inch paint rollers literally applies twice as much paint. This enables walls and ceilings to be painted in half the time. It’s well worth the investment.

Tip #3: Choose the Correct Nap Roller

Smooth walls only need 3/8″ nap rollers. But textured walls or ceilings need 1/2″ nap rollers to get good paint coverage. Don’t make the mistake of using the wrong nap for your application.

Tip #4: Use Corner Rollers

Cutting into wall and ceiling corners is time consuming. Use a custom corner roller that skips that step. Admittedly this roller can only be used if you’re painting both the ceiling and wall. But it’s an awesome option.

Tip #5: Use Drywall Stilts to Cut In

Drywall stilts can be intimidating. However, they’re awesome once you get use to them. Stilts allow paint to be cut into corners much faster than moving a stool or ladder every 3 feet.

There’s nothing worse paint stains bleeding through topcoats. Oil-based primers are fantastic at covering water stains and wood knots, the latter of which are notorious for frustrating homeowners.
